Listening/Be-friending Worker

Pukar Disability Resource Centre

We are looking for an enthusiastic and caring individual to work as part of our team to provide listening/ be-friending emotional support and advice to disabled users at Pukar Centre. The successful candidate should be a good listener and fluent in speaking English, Gujarati, Urdu and Punjabi. The candidate will need to possess a sound working knowledge of working with the community and an awareness of current practice issues.

The successful candidate will be resourceful, optimistic and resilient individual experience of working with people of disability would be advantageous although not essential. The candidate should also display professionalism of working within an integrated team and an understanding of working within the BME community. We at Pukar offer comprehensive management and support to all our staff. Students can also apply.
